Description
Join us for a day of training designed exclusively for yoga teachers, led by Aimee Newton, an experienced Osteopath and Yoga Teacher. This one day immersive workshop will deepen your understanding of the anatomy of the spine and neck. We will be exploring therapeutic techniques to address common postural conditions prevalent in yoga practitioners, including “text neck”, kyphosis, “dowager’s hump”, and osteoporosis.
Throughout the day, participants will engage in a blend of theory, applied anatomy, practical demonstrations, adapted yoga practices, group class management and interactive discussions to enhance your knowledge and skills in promoting spinal health through yoga.
Aimee is a multi-disciplinary, clinical therapist with 17 years of experience as a Yoga Teacher and Educator and is a registered Osteopath. Her work within her busy clinic uses both philosophies to empower people to manage and prevent pain through movement. Being an Osteopath gives her the clinical, medical and scientific perspective of the human body which is applied in a unique way to her yoga practice and teaching. Her knowledge of anatomy and physiology, mechanism of injury, and health of the human body is experienced through a lens of the practical experience of teaching Yoga, how we approach our asana practice and teaching safely. Aimee’s practical instruction is based on the encouragement of organic movement, embodiment and individual exploration with an evidence-based foundation. Focusing on ‘FREEING THE INNER TEACHER’ for both teachers and their students. Anatomy is taught and learnt through touch and working with partners as well as exploring our own experience of feeling our anatomy.
