What is a FRYOG Subsidised CPD Day?

FRYOG are now running subsidised CPD days to offer affordable training for those on limited budgets and to provide some value to our members. These CPD days are for FRYOG members only but are open to non-members upon purchase of a Friends of Yoga membership. They are run by the Area Officer in your region and part of the day’s agenda will be dedicated to discussions of any regional issues.

This zoom accessed training will be divided into a morning and an afternoon session.

Introduction to Somatic Movement 11am-1pm

Somatic movement can help us to tune inwards and experience movement from the inside out, notice where the body may be out of balance and help it rebalance.

With practice we learn to re-educate chronically contracted muscles to move, lengthen & relax more efficiently, improving mobility and reducing stiffness and pain.

Incorporating some somatic movements within yoga classes helps participants to get a deeper awareness of their body and practice postures with increased awareness and safety.

In this 2-hour workshop we will explore the following:

  • A 30-minute presentation explaining how Somatic Movement works.
  • Practice some basic Somatic Movements to experience the benefits.
  • I will allow 10 min at the end for any questions

Dance Meditation 2pm-4pm

This is a powerful and beautiful practice to get into the body and find your own authentic way of expressing to music.

There will be 4 stages +sharing at the end.

  • Body warm-up (I will lead you).
  • Free expression. Let the music take you into a journey through your body and your chakras.
  • Let go and integration stage.
  • Grounding meditation
  • Sharing

All you need to do is bring your openness and dance like no-one is watching.
