Date: 19th May 2019
Time: 10-4pm
Address: Westbrook Hall, Tempest Avenue, Waterlooville, Hampshire, PO7 8NU
Cost: £10 non refundable deposit and £10 contribution.

After the success of last year’s Anatomy based CPD with Aimee Newton, Aimee has kindly offered to share her wisdom with us again this May on the topic of stress.

As Yoga Teachers we all know from experience that the symptoms of stress can be managed with a regular practice. In this workshop we will be looking at the why and how of that experience and specific practices that maybe included in a general class to benefit all students.

The workshop will be based on current research and will include
• Basic physiology of stress response including an overview of the autonomic nervous system and the hormones involved
• The physical manifestation of stress in the body; looking specifically at Heart Rate Variability and how this is manifested in the tissues and joints
• Discussing and the use of asana, pranayama, yoga nidra and meditation in a general class
• Understanding when you should be referring students to a more experienced therapist
This FRYOG subsidised CPD day is for FRYOG Yoga Teachers and FRYOG members and is run by Aimee Newton (M.Ost, Dip.FRYOG) a qualified Osteopath and FRYOG yoga teacher of 12 years.
